This account highlights the development of efficient methods for generation alkyl radicals from organosilicon peroxides and their applications in selective alkylation reactions. Compared with commonly used organic peroxides, a more diverse range can be prepared as bench-stable radical precursors, use combination transition metal catalysts allows under mild conditions.
